Bridges replace a missing tooth by 'bridging' over the open space. A bridge consists of two or more crowns on natural teeth that are attached to an artificial tooth called a pontic, replacing the missing tooth.

Missing teeth can make it difficult to eat and speak and should always be replaced. Fixed bridges are a great way to restore your dental health and appearance.

Procedure:

It takes two or three appointments to complete. First, we will prepare the teeth on either side of the gap and a temporary bridge will be cemented. On the subsequent visit, the bridge will then be cemented permanently to the natural teeth.

Fixed bridges are typically cemented to the natural teeth either side of the space left by the missing tooth and a pontic (false tooth) replaces the lost tooth. Crowns, which are cemented onto the natural teeth, provide support for the bridge.
